Buy a Digital Camera

1. Some things you should consider before choose a digital camera for buying,is:

• What kind of camera you need?

• What style of photography that you like? (Portrait or landscape)

• In a place where you take pictures? (In the room or outdoors)

• Do you use automatic or manual mode when taking pictures?

Ask yourself these questions about this before you go to buy a camera and you will be able to make decisions when you see what is offered to you.

2. Megapixels are not everything but it is one thing that is important

One of the features that you see before you buy digital camera is how many megapixels the camera.

If you only print the pictures in normal size then resolution of 5 megapixels already be in use. A high quality 6 megapixel sensor will produce better quality photographs than a lesser quality 10 megapixel camera.

3. Choose the appropriate additional equipment

Speaking about the additional tools, if you have a digital camera accessory from before then can be added with your new digital camera.

For example: memory cards, batteries, lenses, flash, filters etc.

10. Type of battery is something to consider: Many cameras use proprietary batteries, instead of standard AA batteries. Consider that one day, the battery that came with your camera will stop working, and you will need to get a replacement. Your battery will generally die when we do not want, for example the first day of your vacation, or when your daughter's wedding. Proprietary battery must be fully charged and ready for use. Good idea to have a spare battery charged and ready for use at any time.

11. Weight Amount and Quality: A digital SLR will deliver better picture quality and can be easier to operate than point and shoot pictures. However, it will feel heavier and more expensive. But in the final image quality will be very useful in the long run.

12. Memory card formats: SD (Secure Digital) cards are the most popular format in the consumer camera, they are available in capacities up to 32GB. Choose memory card with enough capacity to accommodate at least 400 JPEG images at the highest resolution camera which is equivalent to 11 rolls of 36-exposure film.

14. Exposure Control

The ability to control exposure settings such as shutter speed and lens aperture is essential for professional photographers. Cheap digital cameras only allow you to take photos in automatic mode - just press the shutter release and voila, your picture is taken. Professional users prefer to tweak the shutter speed and aperture to capture fast moving objects or blur the background image. Choose a camera with exposure control is better if you take photography as a hobby.
